About

The foundation of Birla High School, which was formerly known as the Hindi High School, was laid down in the year 1941, by Lakshmi Niwas Birla. 
The school is now run by the Vidya Mandir Society which also runs schools like Sushila Birla Girls’ School, J.D.Birla Institute and the most recent, Birla High School, Mukundapur. While the schools are affiliated to CBSE and the institute is affiliated to Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

The school has a rich history of laying the foundation of nationalistic education to practicing the modern pedagogies, the institution has not only kept up with the times but also has been crafting change makers of tomorrow. The institution has a very simple yet powerful vision and that is to free the mind. 
Birla High School continues to contribute to the country’s education system by creating powerful, out of the box thinkers and future leaders, throughout its journey from the pre - independence era to the modern age of globalisation.

Education Beyond Classroom

Birla High School believes that every child is unique and has a individual talent which needs to be nurtured with extra care. The students get to choose from an array of activities, which range from robotics to cooking. It has its own band of musicians. The school also has training provisions for skating, yoga, karate and many more.
